Erik Barrett
President
Erik is in his final year of Chemical Engineering with the Energy and Environment minor. He recently finished a 16-month internship with the Technology Development team at ATCO Gas & Pipelines. Here, he was able to work with novel technologies such as assisting with in the commissioning of North America's first 100% hydrogen heated building! He is excited to enter his final year to further explore energy systems and climate solutions. After graduating, Erik hopes to continue exploring his creativity while learning more about energy systems and other related fields such as water treatment and improving soil quality. When he's not in school, Erik can be found running endlessly on the trails, making friends at book stores, or walking through dog parks hoping to meet new canine friends.
Samantha Amundarain

Sam is returning to EEESA as Senior VP for her third year on the club. She hopes to continue the great momentum the club has on community outreach and also support EEESA events throughout the year. In her free time, Sam is bouldering and learning to knit!
Kelly Santos
VP Finance
Kelly is in her final year of Civil engineering after completing an internship with Water Survey of Canada. As VP Finance, she aims to support fellow EEESA members and other ENEE students in learning and pursuing ENEE-related opportunities. In her free time, Kelly enjoys reading, playing video games, or trying new foods with friends.

I’m in my 3rd year of chemical engineering and am so excited as this is my first year in EEESA. My goal is to help throw some super fun events that align with EEESA as a society and bring more engagement throughout our community. When I’m not studying or planning fun events, i like to hike and play guitar.

Hey! I'm Jenice, and I'm going into my 3rd year of Civil Engineering. In my free time I enjoy doing watercolour painting, playing piano, and fibre crafts.
This year is all about connecting students with their peers, their professors and industry professionals in the Energy and Environment space. The EEESA Academic team is always here to support you in your engineering career, whether that be navigating your academics, career, or your networking skills. I am from rural British Columbia and love being outdoors and in the mountains, on hikes, swimming and working out. I am super excited to represent the ENEE minor and bring the energy this year! Hello, I am one of your awesome trip directors this year! I am beyond excited to plan some local trips and an international trip for EESA. I just spent 4 months travelling the world so I cannot wait to take my travel knowledge and apply it to this role. Before travelling I had a 12 month internship working on a giant bridge in the Yukon! I am now in my final year of Civil Engineering so I love to talk about bridges and concrete :) In my free time I enjoy running, skiing and being with my friends.
Carter Parke

I’m a mechanical engineering major with ENEE minor. I love all kinds of media, including movies, music, and manga. I enjoy walks and hikes when I have time. I recently went on a 2.5 month trip around Europe by myself, and even more recently I started my internship at BluEarth Renewables as an Operations Engineering Student! During my internship, I hope to help support EEESA with company relations, securing sponsorships, runnings internship related events (such as the resume review), and broaden the reach of EEESA to more students, companies, and industry representatives. If anything, I hope I can make an impact that supports the students who use EEESA resources and activities
Mohamed Mahir Mohamed Ariff
Director of Funding
Mahir is a second year electrical engineering student. As the Director of Funding, he is looking forward to represent EEESA at Schulich Students Activity Fund council, where he will play a key role in allocating funds to various engineering clubs. Beyond this, Mahir will actively collaborate with external team to secure sponsorships and organize career fairs. He is also Junior executive in FUSE Collective and Bioelectric team member at BMERIT. In his free time, Mahir enjoys badminton, soccer and cooking.
Talus Josephson

Talus is in his third year of chemical engineering and hopes to foster more connections between industry and the ENEE student body through his role as VP External by hosting career fairs, lunch-and-learns, and industry info sessions. Outside of school, Talus fills his time with many hobbies, including fishing, fighting sports, and everything musical.

I am currently in my last year of Electrical Engineering, and this is my fourth year with EEESA! I am passionate about the sustainability of our electrical grid, and the incoming changes required to support electrification. I am super excited to work on social and other collaborative events throughout this year. My goals for EEESA this year is to increase our engagement throughout the faculty, including with first years! I can't wait to see the ENEE community grow through the awesome events and initiatives EEESA will do this year.

Hai is in is final year of Civil Engineering and has previously completed a 16-month internship with TransAlta. Outside of school, he's a classical music enthusiast, and a fervent cyclist and urbanist.
Gian Maguigad

Gian is a second-year student studying Chemical Engineering with a minor in Energy and Environment. He loves listening to musical theatre soundtracks while struggling through his homework, and currently has Legally Blonde on repeat! Outside of school, his hobbies include karaoke and visiting art museums downtown. As this year's Director of Academics, Gian is excited to be a part of EEESA to promote an environmental consciousness to communities both on and off campus!

Hi! I’m going into my 3rd year of Civil Engineering and I’m super excited to return to EEESA as VP Marketing! My favorite EEESA events are the tours & site visits so I’ll try my best to create eye-catching posters & engaging promotional activities for these exciting events this year. I’m passionate about sustainable energy systems and building infrastructures, and I hope to build a career in the field. In my free time, I enjoy writing and volunteering.

I'm a passionate environmentalist, who loves spending time outside and in the mountains. I can usualy be found mountain biking, hiking, climbing and skiing.
My goals for this year as a Trip Director are to organize day trips that highlight renewable energy and environmental projects in the Calgary area, and to provide students with insights into potential companies that align with the energy and environmental sectors, offering valuable opportunities to explore these fields.

Mason is currently in his internship year of Mechanical Engineering. Right now, he is working at TransAlta in Hydro Operations, pursuing his passion of renewable energy and contributing to global sustainability. Mason is returning to EEESA for his third year on the council and is excited for another great year of Energy and Environment! Away from school, Mason enjoys making music and outdoor activities such as climbing, ski touring, fly fishing, and photography.
